This is an artificial replacement for missing teeth, or a partial replacement for some of them. It is used when someone has lost all their natural teeth and faces difficulties in chewing, speaking or smiling. Dental implants are also used to anchor dentures. They are tiny titanium bars that are placed in the jaws to serve as anchors for the new teeth.
They are commonly referred to as “false teeth“. They can be made from a resin based material or a combination of metal and plastic. The base is made up of acrylic teeth attached to a gum coloured plastic which is then stitched into place in your mouth.
